Summer is the season for weddings so i am not surprised that the wedding theme has won this weeks poll.

There are many projects you can create for weddings and if you are selling your embroidered items then what a great opportunity to make some money.

When a couple prepare their wedding they want to make it the most special day ever, they also want to add a personal touch, this is where you can come in, couples will be searching the net for personalised and custom made wedding items from favours and decorations to bridesmaid gifts and accessories.

Hello, today i want to go over the free embroidery designs process i have on this blog for my new subscribers.

What is this blog about?
This blog is aimed at embroiders of all levels. I post articles often, that offer help, advice and tips on all aspects of embroidery design.

I have another blog that offers Embroidery machine help but this blog concentrates more on embroidery designs.

Why do you give away free designs?
I give away free designs as a thank you to my regular subscribers.

How do i get the free embroidery designs?
(1)Simply add your email address to the box to the top right.. You will be sent posts and articles each time i write.

(2)A poll is set up and runs for approx two weeks, the poll is always situated at the bottom of the main page. Here you can vote for the designs you want.

(3)When the poll has closed i email subscribers but due to the volume it can take around 72hrs. Posts and articles will always reach you but some mail servers block large files and mistake them for spam so to get round this i always upload the free designs to a web page to make sure no subscriber ever misses out. For example the designs released on 21st July can be found at the bottom of this web page

Every time designs are ready i will add a link in one of my posts direct to the designs in case anyone missed them.

Blogs do not have the function to add large files to its pages which is why i have to upload them to a web page.

The pet slogans are great for the dog bandannas we spoke about in machine embroidery projects part 2.

As these were a popular choice i have made sure i have jam packed the embroidery design folder with these pet designs so you will really enjoy them.

I thought i would use tonight's post to throw around some Machine Embroidery Project ideas that you can use the pet slogan designs for.

The Slogans will be mainly humorous so a perfect opportunity to make some pet gifts. Here's a few ideas for you:

Pet blankets - the obvious choice but with some different designs you could move off the standard pet embroidered images and go for a more fun approach.

Pet Bandannas - I wont say much on these as i did a lengthy post on the Bandannas in embroidery projects part 2

Pet Clothes - Yes we have all seen them, the question is have you used them? It is a bit of a boom to dress your pooch up in designer gear,why not buy pet garments wholesale and jazz them up with a pet slogan design.

Pet Collars - Yes they are thin but embroider able i can assure you, especially the thicker woven ones!

So just a few ideas for you but i am sure it has got your brain ticking for some great uses for the pet slogan designs.

Embroidery Projects Part 3

When you think about selling embroidered items you have to think what people would buy. The good thing about personalised items is that you will never be short of customers. People will buy personalised embroidered products all year round, especially for unique gifts.

How to maximise sales
To increase your sales you have to think about tomorrow, by that i mean think about what people will be buying more of next week or next month. To do this you can go with the seasons and holidays. For example three weeks before the end of the school summer holidays parents will be on the Internet searching for school items with their kids names on. Especially first time schoolers and those entering year 7 of high school. Get in early and start promoting such products before the demand.

Some Embroidered products people will search for

Winter
In winter people go crazy and search for warmer accessories like scarfs and hats. Both of these can be embroidered. The beeny hats as they are called (the wool type) are fantastic, these can be embroidered for all ages, a fun slogan for adults and a name for kids, for example "princess Chloe" would be a big hit with 2-7 year olds. As for the scarfs you can either buy in bulk or you can make them very simply out of fleece. I will post how to make scarfs at a later date.

Summer
In summer you can sell baseball caps, beach bags, personalised bandannas (not just for dogs). What is also very popular in summer is fishing towels and sports products. The summer makes us feel active and we want the cool accessories to go along with our new hobby!

Celebrations
Now celebrations are something you can take advantage of all year round, and will most probably be your biggest earner.

Weddings - His and hers bath robes, his and hers towels. Personalised groom and best man socks. Honeymoon bedroom door hangers and many personalised bridesmaid gifts. Also think about wedding favours. Couples spend allot of money on these, you can do personalised tote bags and alternative place holders.

Personalising Bags
We have already looked at personalising bandannas, now i want to talk about personalised bags.

What kind of bags can you Embroider?
Now you don't have to go and grab some fabric and your sewing machine and make bags from scratch, there are many bags already on the market that you can buy to personalise.

There are gym style bags just like the swimming bags kids take to school. They are a waterproof fabric that you will be surprised to know does not tear with high speed embroidering, in fact only 1 piece of backing paper is required and it is quite an easy task. You can add names to these and also designs here's a few ideas of how you can promote them:

(1)As school bags with children's names, you will find that you will get some preschools contact you for large orders.

(2)As Equestrian tack bags, with the horses name, riders name or riding schools name on, there is also a simple horse design i have that i would be happy to pass on that goes great on the bags, one colour outline that is so quick and simple.

(3)Dance bags with ballet shoes on them, the pink ones are adorable

(4)Swim Bags

(5)Football kit bags

(6)And of course if any of you are digitizers then you can take bulk custom orders with a company or club logo on the bags.

How much are the gym style bags?
I know a supplier that supplies the ruck sack style bags with double corded straps for just under a £ each, he sells in bulk with a minimum order of 60 and reduces the prices for larger orders. He sells in over 10 colours.

Personalised Canvas Bags
Now these are great because they are becoming very popular, they are the co friendly type and all ages are now using these as shopping bags so to have one custom made with a design or name on would be fantastic. Again so simple to embroider, the same supplier i used to use sells them for around 60p each. They are 100% cotton.

Where can i sell personalised bags
The obvious choice would be Ebay but there is also the option of setting up your own website, you can buy web space and a domain for £22 per year and it is worthwhile.
